The vocal ensemble enchore leipzig, run by the conductor Andreas Mitschke was founded of former members of the MDR Kinderchor in September 2007. Initially the ensemble performed on a low scale and sarranged small private festivities. Nevertheless long time choir members were looking for a greater challenge. Since then Leipzig, their hometown, was not the one and only place for concerts anymore. Many places more were visited and new musical achievements made.
Up to now there has been concerts in the Thomaskirche and the Nikolaikirche, both in Leipzig as well as concerts across Germany like a performance in the Herderkirche of Weimar in corporation with the Stadtkirchenorchester. Scenic arrangements within the opera „Die beiden Pädagogen“ in the Musikhochschule in Leipzig and participation in the „Soul Symphony“, written by Larry Golds, 2008 in Dresden are counted amoung the highlights in the past.
During the last year enchore leipzig participated in TV- and radio productions of the Mitteldeutschen Rundfunk (MDR) for the first time. The choir are visible on the programme „Oh es klingt gut, Oh es klingt fein“ and appear in the radio play „DDRisch für alle“. enchore leipzig succesfully placed first within the Deutschen Chorwettbewerb 2009 in the category Vocal ensemble and is delegated for Saxony to attend the Deutschen Chorwettbewerb in 2010. The vocalists feel themselves obliged to choir music of the centuries 19 and 20, Javier Busto, György Orbán and Wilhelm Killmayer are part of the fundamental repertoire. Above all enchore leipzig are devoted to the production of traditional compositions like those of Josef Rheinbergers, Franz Schuberts and Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
